“…Instruments for specific conditions, symptoms, or treatments need further research on metric properties. 11 This study confirmed the validity and the reliability of this instrument. Thus it corroborates the aforementioned works and supports the Brazilian version of CPQ [8][9][10] and the scores that are shown to be satisfactory to detect the impact on OHRQoL in populations with TDI.…”

“…The age is a key factor when choosing among the four recommended instruments for schoolchildren and adolescents. 11 The CPQ [8][9][10] has been shown to be an appropriate index for children aged from 8 to 10 years old. 12 In the literature, there is no specific instrument for assessing TDI 13 and therefore instruments already tested to assess the QHRQoL of children should be used.…”

“…Despite differences in measurement approaches to assessing OHQoL, there is ample evidence to support the validity and reliability of the various OHQoL measures in determining the burden of ECC on children's lives. 30 The evidence suggests that irrespective of measurement approach and irrespective of culture, ECC does place a burden on the lives of children, their families, and communities. While the ability of OHQoL measures to describe the burden of ECC is helpful, it is also important that they can capture and describe the benefits of treatment and care to children's lives.…”

“…Scores were summed, reverse coded, and recoded to a score between 0 and 100, with higher scores representing better oral health. The construct, criterion, and convergent validity of the PedsQ oral health scale has been supported in adolescent samples (Steele et al, ; also see Zaror et al, ).…”
