Assessing Cultivated Land–Use Transition in the Major Grain-Producing Areas of China Based on an Integrated Framework

Abstract: The cultivated land-use transition (CLUT) is the morphological result of changes in the cultivated land-use mode over time, and the result of the interaction and mutual restriction of the human land system. This paper applies a “spatial–functional” integrated framework to understand the structure and functioning of CLUTs, and quantitatively evaluates and visualizes CLUTs in the major grain-producing area in southern China. The results show that (1) the comprehensive CLUT index in the middle and lower reaches o… Show more

“…Based on the above results and analysis, several interesting phenomena were highlighted. First, from the perspective of the evolution of cultivated land use ecological efficiency, the cultivated land use efficiency in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River is generally not high and is lower than the cultivated land use efficiency in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River [ 42 ], but it shows an increasing trend, which is consistent with China’s cultivated land use efficiency in recent years. The dynamic evolution characteristics are relatively consistent with [ 43 ].…”

“…In Eqs ( 7 )–( 10 ), x i and y i are the longitude and latitude coordinates of the geographical location center of the study object; and represent the coordinates of the distance from each point to regional center of gravity respectively; w i is weight; N represents the number of research subjects; The azimuth of an ellipse θ is the angle formed by the main axis of the ellipse in a clockwise direction from north [ 32 , 33 ].…”

“…As a result, the agricultural policy reforms, including Senegal's land system, remain challenging and complex. In summary, this may imply that when the social development level is low due to the unclear property rights of cultivated land and underdeveloped agricultural technology, the social awareness of cultivated land protection is relatively weak, and cities are disorderly expanded (Lv et al, 2022).…”
