under the supervision of Professor William R. Fawcett. So far, he advised 19 master and 12 doctoral theses, and published more than 100 scientific papers. He was a National Secretary of the Ibero-American Society of Electrochemistry from 2000 to 2002 and a Director of the Electrochemistry and Electroanalytical Chemistry Division of the Brazilian Chemical Society from 2006 to 2010. Professor Motheo's recent research interests are the application of electrochemical, photo-electrochemical and sonoelectrochemical methods for the degradation of endocrine disruptors, the development of materials combined with conduction polymers for corrosion protection of iron and aluminum alloys, and the study of adsorption at electrode/solution interfaces in the absence of faradaic processes.
