Nurturing students to become engaged readers for literacy development may need teachers who can play roles as models of keen readers. This descriptive quantitative study aims to profile the reading engagement of Indonesian EFL teachers as perceived from reading resources and pleasure reading. This study employed a survey questionnaire, requesting the respondents to reflect on their personal and school reading collection and their habits in reading for pleasure. Through a convenience sampling technique, voluntary responses were received from 183 secondary EFL teachers, mostly from East Java Province. The data were descriptively tabulated to result in frequencies and percentages. Research tool SPSS ver.24 was used to analyze the raw data for means, correlations, and compared means. Overall, this study found that reading engagement among secondary EFL teachers reflects moderately positive directions. The statistical analyses demonstrate that possessing personal reading resources may result in a slightly significant impact in assuring EFL teachers to read for pleasure yet better than having school reading resources. It has also been proven that both types of reading resources are weakly, yet significantly, correlated with reading for pleasure. This means that the more EFL teachers have access to reading resources, the more they will read and indirectly improve themselves. Future research may uncover the implications of having teachers engaged in reading on the design of more responsive reading instruction for the development of literacy culture at schools.

Purpose. This manuscript is a result of a research that aims at identifying Constraints Based Behaviours in EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Mastery. Methods and procedure. This scientific research result manuscript has data obtained descriptively and analysed qualitativelyso that qualitative descriptive method is used. Graduade students of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education as its subjects have to do real behaviours for overcoming the constraints to master the EFL that has been learnt to decode and encode messages for having solution of problem through activities that have not been realized because of the constraints. Its specific target is realization of the university students’ behaviours supporting their English competence/knowledge and performance/skill. They have to realize main points of activities based on their problems in learning that foreign language to be behaviours based on the constraints in mastering that international language. This is to identify the students’ constraints to hopefully be overcome by the English education students and lecturers. The students are intended to freely use their English so that they do have the foreign language skills: receptive and productive skills. Results. Resultsof the research indicate thatthe English education students sometimes learn English, use/produce it so that they can understand/comprehend it, develop their skills, and always improve their English. English skill that they master most is Reading. They master oral English more than visual one and most of them do English speaking skill/activities and they in mastering the English have most constraints on reading skill. Conclutions. English education students experienced most constraints on Reading Skill, have behaviours for overcaming the constraints, and then can master most that skill. Thus, constraints based behaviours of English education students in EFL mastery are identified through their experiences consistently.

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melatih para siswa dalam menggunakan English Verbs (Katakerja Bahasa Inggris). Mereka diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kosakata khususnya katakerja bahasa Inggrisnya sehingga mereka bisa membuat kalimat dan berkomunikasi dalam bahasa asing itu. Mereka dimotivasi untuk menguasai katakerja bahasa Inggris yang digunakan dalam aktivitas hariannya sehingga mampu berkomunikasi dalam bahasa internasional itu secara praktis. Target khususnya adalah siswa-siswi yang memiliki semangat untuk menambah English Verbs (Katakerja Bahasa Inggris) sehingga bisa menggunakannya secara berkesinambungan dan mempengaruhi teman-temannya dalam menggunakan kosakata bahasa Inggris itu dalam kalimat. Mereka dengan mudah berkomunikasi dalam bahasa global itu jika memiliki banyak kosakatanya. Mereka juga bisa menjadi pembelajar global. Metode komunikatif dipakai untuk mencapai tujuan itu. Hasilnya Pelatihan English Verbs untuk Siswa itu aman dan tertib. Cara Praktis Belajar Bahasa Inggris dijelaskan kepada mereka yang juga dilatih untuk meningkatkan kosakata itu dan menggunakannya dalam kalimat sehingga mereka bisa mempraktikkannya dan meningkatkannya walaupun belum lancar dalam membuat dan mengungkapkannya. Mereka diharapkan menguasai English Verbs itu berhubung semua kalimat bahasa Inggris pasti memiliki katakerja.
