Aspects of the D=6, (2,0) tensor multiplet

Abstract: Some aspects of the D = 6, (2, 0) tensor multiplet are discussed. Its formulation as an analytic superfield on a suitably defined superspace and its superconformal properties are reviewed. Powers of the field strength superfield define a series of superconformal fields which correspond to the KK multiplets of D = 11 supergravity on an AdS 7 ×S 4 background. Correlation functions of these operators are briefly discussed.

“…Moreover, it is also possible to show that next-to-extremal correlators, for which p 1 = ( n i=2 p i ) − 2, are also trivial and non-renormalised, and this has been confirmed on the supergravity side [35]. Similar results have been shown in M-theory on AdS 7(4) × S 4 (7) [37] and seem also to be true on the field theory side in D = 6(2, 0) SCFT [36].…”

“…To see this explicitly consider the OPE for two T 's in analytic superspace. Looking again at single contractions we shall have a term T (1)T (2) ∼ g 12 W (1)W (2) (36) but now we regard the W 's as functions of the analytic coordinates. We can now make a Taylor expansion about point 2 in all the coordinates.…”

“…Another application would be to superconformal field theories in other spacetime dimensions, particularly D = 6, (2, 0) and D = 3, N = 8 SCFT. In a recent paper [48] it has been shown that there are also protected series A operators in D = 6, (2, 0) and this has been used to give a proof of the triviality of certain extremal correlators studied on the AdS side in [49] and in analytic superspace in [50].…”

“…the solution of the superconformal Ward identities is much more involved. Nevertheless much impressive work has been done computing half BPS correlators in the 6d theory [198][199][200][201][202][203][204][205][206][207][208][209][210][211][212][213] as well as the 3d theory [214][215][216][217] and the one loop quantum gravity corrections to the four-point supergravity amplitude on AdS 7 × S 4 and AdS 4 × S 7 (or their Z 2 orbifolds) have even been computed [210,217] overcoming a number of these technical difficulties.…”
