“…En diferentes ambientes lóticos de la cuenca del río tercero, incluyendo ríos de cabecera y otros sitios ubicados aguas abajo del embalse Piedras Moras, se han descripto 29 especies de peces (Haro et al, 1996). Sin embargo, a excepción de los embalses Arroyo corto y río tercero (Boschi & Fuster de Plaza, 1959;Freyre et al, 1983;Mancini & Grosman, 1998;Mancini et al, 2008a), no se encontraron antecedentes de tra-bajos exhaustivos sobre riqueza, composición de la ictiofauna y biología pesquera del resto de sus reservorios, a pesar de la importante extracción de biomasa para consumo humano y del gran movimiento turístico que generan la pesca deportiva y recreativa de algunas especies, en particular del pejerrey Odontesthes bonariensis.…”
