Asian Americans and Consumption

Abstract: Asian Americans are gaining attention as an important consumer group. Asian American consumption is a complicated phenomenon that reflects both the desires and the needs of this diverse population. Owing to the large number of Asian Americans from immigrant backgrounds, their consumption is influenced by connections with their countries of origin. Asian American youths are active consumers of transnational cultural products and their consumption leads to the blending of cultural forms.
