As tetralogias de Antifonte: tradução e comentários

Abstract: Esta dissertação traduz e comenta as Tetralogias de Antifonte. Show more

“…Thus, we shall use the formalism based on the Boltzmann equations for the estimation of the asymmetries. Furthermore, as shown below, the required masses of right-handed neutrinos are O(10 13 ) GeV, and hence the simple one-flavor approximation of the leptogenesis can be applied and we only consider the (total) lepton asymmetry neglecting the so-called flavor effect [40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47].…”

“…The present baryon asymmetry can be estimated as Y B = −8/23Y L , 1 where we have taken into account for the effect of the two Higgs doublets. Now, since the lightest right-handed neutrino is sufficiently heavy, we can neglect the flavor effect of the leptogenesis [40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47]. In this case, the final baryon asymmetry becomes insensitive to the PMNS mixing matrix of active neutrinos.…”

“…Here, the mechanism of asymmetry generation and washout is slightly more involved [28,[41][42][43]. At temperatures T ∼ M 2 ∼ 10 13 GeV, a comparatively large asymmetry is generated in each of the two active lepton flavours α = (eµ), τ from N 2 decays.…”

“…Such processes are also CP-violating because of the interference between their tree and one-loop amplitudes [7,[16][17][18]. Considering the case in which M 1 M 2 < M 3 holds and all the Yukawa interactions are blind to the lepton flavors (i.e., the temperature of the Universe satisfies T = M 1 10 12 GeV [19][20][21][22][23][24]), one expects that mainly the flavor-independent (or unflavored) CP-violating asymmetry can survive and give rise to a net lepton-antilepton number asymmetry Y L ≡ (n L −n L )/s with s being the entropy density of the Universe. To subsequently convert Y L to a net baryon-antibaryon number asymmetry Y B ≡ (n B −n B )/s, such an unflavored leptogenesis mechanism should keep taking effect in the temperature range 10 2 GeV T 10 12 GeV in which the non-perturbative (B − L)-conserving sphaleron interactions may stay in thermal equilibrium and thus can be very efficient [25][26][27].…”
