The present study successfully produced a highly effective and stable organ phosphorus-doped tungsten trioxide (P-WO3) photocatalyst by a combination of hydrothermal and postcalcination methods. The crystallites, morphologies, and optical properties of the produced WO3 and P-WO3 crystals were investigated. The results indicated that P was consistently doped into the WO3 lattice in a pentavalent-oxidation state (P5+). Additionally, charge carrier traps capable of accepting photoelectrons were created. Additionally, the optical band gap was reduced from 2.4 to 2.33 eV. The degradation of methyl blue by photocatalysts was utilized to evaluate the photocatalytic performance of the synthesized P-WO3 samples at varied P concentrations (MB). The sample containing 6% -P-WO3 exhibited the best photocatalytic performance, degrading 96 percent of MB in 120 minutes, which was more than four times faster than the pure WO3 sample. The practicality of the synthesized P-WO3 was determined using samples from two residential wastewater treatment plants. When treating real wastewater with low organic matter concentrations, the P-WO3 demonstrated strong photodegradation performance. The creation of hydroxyl radicals (OH) and photography-created holes (h+) could be the key protagonists of photocatalytic activity in the P-WO3.

Background. Cancer patients face multiple challenges, such as infertility caused by exposure to gonadotoxic agents and gonadal irradiation during cancer treatment. Little is known about the health practitioners’ knowledge and practice regarding fertility preservation and its available options in Saudi Arabia. Thus, this study is designed to evaluate the level of knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) towards fertility preservation in cancer patients among health practitioners in an environmental region in Saudi Arabia. Methods. The cross-sectional study was carried out between September 2020 and January 2021. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed among health practitioners from a variety of specialties who work closely with cancer patients. Results. Out of 100 participants, 90% need more knowledge about fertility preservation. The lack of fertility preservation clinics in the patient’s area and its unaffordable expenses significantly influenced the health practitioners’ attitude towards fertility preservation discussion with cancer patients. The results revealed that 92% of the participants agreed that the Saudi Ministry of Health should establish practice guidelines and provide fertility preservation services for cancer patients. Conclusions. The present study showed that clinical practitioners’ knowledge remains insufficient. Education of health practitioners and the establishment of practice guidelines and fertility preservation clinics for cancer patients are required.

Background. Metabolic syndrome is considered dangerous, especially to patients that are diagnosed with a mental condition such as bipolar disorder, since these types of patients can be difficult to deal with. Metabolic syndrome can lead to multiple cardiovascular diseases, strokes, and diabetes. A careful approach is important when it comes to facing a complex condition such as this. This research will contribute to giving more information about the prevalence and statistics of metabolic syndrome in bipolar disorder patients at NGHA, Riyadh. No published study in literature has investigated the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in patients with bipolar disorder in NGHA, Riyadh. Methods. The study was conducted among 191 adult male (66) and female (125) patients at NGHA, Riyadh. The medical records were used for the assessment of metabolic syndrome and referrals by using a chart review for individuals. The main variables are metabolic syndrome and bipolar disorder. It was conducted on both males and females. Data was collected on data collection form and further analysis on relations was made by using SAS (Version 9.4). Chi-squared test and the Wilcoxon Two-sample test for two-level continuous variables. P ≤ 0.05 was determined to be the significance level. Results. Out of 191 patients, 130 were obese, 85 had diabetes, and 89 were hypertensive. Additionally, 50 (40%) females and 29 (43.9%) males had metabolic syndrome, a total of 79 (41.4%) out of 191. Conclusion. The findings of this study indicate that there is an elevated prevalence of metabolic syndrome in bipolar disorder patients in NGHA, Riyadh. Highlighting the potential danger that people may not be aware of.
