Arterial and Venous Reconstruction of the Popliteal Vessels in a Case of Bilateral Crush Injury of the Legs

Abstract: The case is presented of a patient who sustained bilateral popliteal vascular injuries of both arteries and veins accompanied by compound femoral fractures. A successful outcome followed vascular reconstruction of both popliteal arteries and veins. The case is presented because of the diversity of possible methods of management and the way in which it exemplifies some of the principles of popliteal vessel reconstruction. A discussion of the methods is presented.
