Abstract: Chagas cardiomyopathy caused by infection with the intracellular parasite Trypanosoma cruzi is the most common and severe expression of human Chagas disease. Heart failure, systemic and pulmonary thromboembolism, arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death are the principal clinical manifestations of Chagas cardiomyopathy.
