Abstract: Purine-rich element binding protein B (Purβ) is a single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) and RNA-binding protein that functions as a transcriptional repressor of genes encoding certain muscle-restricted contractile proteins in the setting of cellular stress or tissue injury.
