“…Many previous studies have detected its aberrant expression in cancers. For instance, SERPINE1 was found to be high‐expressed in colorectal cancer and related to tumour invasiveness and aggressiveness 15. Overexpression of SERPINE1 has also been found in many other cancers including melanoma,16 oesophageal cancer17 and bladder cancer 18.…”

“…Additionally, significant increases were observed in the pro-angiogenic factor IL-8 (2.0-fold) and ECM remodeling protein uPA (12.7-fold); however, no changes in other pro-angiogenic factors, such as vascular endothelial growth factor, placenta growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor, platelet-derived growth factor, and matrix metalloproteinase-8 and 9 were detected. Unexpected increases in the anti-angiogenic factors, serpin E1 (2.4-fold), endostatin (2.6-fold) and Timp-1 (2.8-fold) were found in the CM of TS-fibroblast co-cultures, and warrant further investigation regarding their role in migration and invasion [28][29][30].…”

“…These were ARNTL2, BCL3, IRF5, PLAGL2, and VAV1. ARNTL2, PLAGL2, and VAV1 have so far been described in relation to malignancies (21,23,34) and diabetes (16).…”
