“…Much of this research, which has spanned decades, stems from projects on academic literacy in Australian primary and secondary schools led by the University of Sydney (Martin 1986(Martin , 1991(Martin , 1993Martin & Rose 2008;Shea 1988;Taylor 1979;Wignell et al 1989).
