“…Many different skin lesions were successfully treated with the argon laser, 17 including telangiectasia, 18 decorative tattoos, strawberry hemangiomas, venous lakes, Kaposi's sarcoma, 19 lymphocytoma cutis, 20 adenoma sebaceum, 21 rhinophyma and epidermal nevi. The number of different conditions treated with the argon laser is one indication of the tremendous clinical interest in this device.…”

“…15 Providing the most optimal postoperative wound care environment was also proposed by dermatologists Gary Brauner and Alan Schliftman as another way to reduce scarring following treatment of portwine stains in children. 16 Many different skin lesions were successfully treated with the argon laser, 17 including telangiectasia, 18 decorative tattoos, strawberry hemangiomas, venous lakes, Kaposi's sarcoma, 19 lymphocytoma cutis, 20 adenoma sebaceum, 21 rhinophyma and epidermal nevi.

“…The argon laser has also been used for neoplasms with a vascular component that may be found in the nail unit. Examples of these include glomous tumors and Kaposi's sarcoma 11,12 . For these neoplasms, the argon laser may be preferable to that of the continuous‐wave dye or copper vapor lasers in view of the fact that higher energy densities may be emitted with this laser, allowing for the treatment of thicker tumors that may require greater thermal damage for complete obliteration.…”
