Are marginal beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) provenances a source for drought tolerant ecotypes?

Abstract: Due to the expected increases of number and intensity of summer droughts in Central Europe the identiWcation of drought tolerant ecotypes becomes more important in future forestry.
