Are health promotion and prevention interventions integrated into occupational therapy practice with older adults having disabilities? Insights from six community health settings in Québec, Canada

Abstract: Health promotion and prevention interventions are not intentionally integrated into community occupational therapy practice with seniors having disabilities. As a result, seniors' needs to engage in meaningful activities might remain unmet. Overcoming barriers to integrating health promotion and prevention in practice could help improve population health and wellbeing.

In contrast, the collaborator and communicator roles were perceived with a higher competence level as compared to the other roles.…”

“…One of the mechanisms by which n-3 PUFAs influence endothelial function is mediated by their incorporation into biological membrane phospholipids and modulation of membrane composition and fluidity [ 200 ]. Caveolae-associated receptors mediate important pathways such as the NO-cGMP pathway, and the NADPH oxidase and TNF- α -NF- κ B mediated COX-2 and PGE 2 activation pathway [ 201 , 202 ]. n-3 PUFAs may exert their beneficial effects in the endothelium, by modulating the composition of membrane caveolae, similar as other lipids [ 203 ].…”
