Architectures of increased availability wireless sensor network nodes

Abstract: Wireless .sensor networks ( WSN.sJ are being increasingly used in applications where low energy consumption and low cost are the overriding considerations. With increased use, their reliability, availability and serviceability need to be addressed from the outset. Conventional schemes uj' adding redundant nodes and incorporating reliability in control protocols can efectively improve only the reliabiliry of the overall WSN. The availabiliry and serviceability of WSN nodes can be addrevsed by providing the remo… Show more

“…This mode lasts until either a packet is received from a satellite (at which point it enters Transmit Mode), the modem is instructed to enter Sleep Mode, or enough time elapses that the modem automatically re-enters GPS Acquisition Mode. Robust operation and enhanced availability [15] is built into the M138 modem, as well as ensured by handling the exceptions, such as those caused by lost signals (Swarm or GNSS) or power. If a packet is received from a satellite, the modem enters Transmit Mode, attempting to transmit queued packets and receive an acknowledgement.…”

“…In [15], the availability of WSN nodes are considered that can be addressed by indulging the distant testing and fixing the substructure for separate sensor nodes using COTs components, they built and evaluated the system level examination interface for distant testing repair and software update. This also covers contents regarding the plan methods which were carried to explore the difficulty using the projected infrastructure.…”

“…These low-cost networks enable monitoring activities to be carried out remotely, in real time, and with little human participation. A typical WSN network is made up of two basic components: nodes and base stations [8][9][10][11][12]. "A node is a piece of equipment with sensing, processing, and communication capabilities that is in charge of measuring the variables associated with a specific application."…”

“…These are common variables to consider when selecting a wireless connection solution. (WSN) technology can be used in many fields in Iraq [12][13][14][15][16], especially after the death of millions of fish in central and southern Iraq between December 31, 2018 and March 5, 2019, where these fish breeding projects exist in (Hilla, Al-Musayyab, Kufa, Diwaniyah, and the marshes), and cases of fish deaths can be avoided using (WSN) technology. Figure 1 depicts the fish farming initiatives in the aforementioned locations.…”
