This paper deals with the analysis of the comparator circuit for CMOS technology using inverters. The CMOS based cascaded comparator, worked on the level of threshold setting of CMOS transistors referred as Threshold Inverter Quantizer, TIQ. TIQ has many advantages over the conventional op-amp based comparator and hence can be effectively use for processing the optical signals for the application of Artificial Silicon Retina, ASR. In this paper TIQ analysis presented provides the background for using it in the applications like computer vision, machine vision and surveillance etc. PMOS and NMOS are used for the TIQ. These transistors are designed by the suitable selection of the design parameter 'W' and 'L' to meet the Voltage Threshold Point, VTP on Voltage Threshold characteristics, VTC. VTP act as the dc operating point and is very sensitive and important in the ASR. Operating point and the design parameters 'W' and 'L' for PMOS and NMOS are analyzed and also simulated using Microwind-DSCH.
