Writings on natural disasters reflect tragic experiences of peoples and the nostalgic cravings after it. This study examines the portrayal of earthquakes, storms and tsunamis as a national concern in Japanese literature. The portrayal of the theme, which has remained a topical issue, is psychological, and sociological. The portrait of personal and communal loss is a reflection of the perspectives and survival strategies that emerge after such disasters occur. This study examines two narrative accounts and a poetry piece written to capture the magnitude and effect of the earthquakes at different periods in Japan. The study examines these writings vis-a-vis media accounts of the recent 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, and the Fukushima Daichi nuclear disaster.

El propósito de este trabajo es indagar en la deconstrucción del arquetipo del gitano, a través de la poesía de José Heredia Maya. Esta se presenta como una original propuesta de renovación de la visión de la cultura gitana en el ámbito de la poesía española. Para ello, la investigación se centra en sus obras Penar Ocono (1973), Camelamos naquerar (1976) y Charol (1983), donde el autor granadino reivindica la identidad de su pueblo, inclusiva y abierta, que postula su voz poética. De esta forma, se intenta responder a los interrogantes que originan la presente investigación: ¿cómo deconstruye el poeta los arquetipos y estereotipos existentes sobre el pueblo gitano? ¿Qué rasgos destaca como conformadores de la identidad de su pueblo? Así, comprendiendo los mecanismos que deconstruyen el arquetipo, se intenta la consecución de dos objetivos propuestos: poner en valor la figura de José Heredia Maya y la originalidad de su obra, poco estudiada, por otra parte; y obtener las herramientas para inutilizar los resortes del arquetipo de gitano, no superado en la sociedad actual.
