Aqueous polymerization of methacrylamide initiated by KMnO4/H2C2O4 redox system

Abstract: The polymerization of methacrylamide initiated by potassium permanganate/oxalic acid redox system has been studied at 35 f 0.2"C in a nitrogen atmosphere. The rate of polymerization is independent of the activator (oxalic acid) concentration within the range 5.10-3to 10.10-3mole.1-1, except at very high (above 10.10-3mole.1--1) or at very low(be1ow 5 .lO-3 mole.1-1) concentrations of the activator.
