“…This group of snow trout belongs to the subfamily Schizothoracinae and family Cyprinidae and are classified under vulnerable (VU) in India by the IUCN (2012 along with scanty information regarding its taxonomy, distribution, biology, and food value. The demand for this group of fish has increased drastically with increasing fishing pressure on natural aquatic resources due to lack of much sustained aquaculture avenues in this hill locked part of India (Baruah et al 2018). Henceforth, an attempt has been made to highlight the status of snow trout fisheries thriving in the upland aquatic habitats in eastern Himalayan State of Arunachal Pradesh.…”

“…Tso), and Sungester, located in the eastern Himalayas in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, were chosen. The three lakes are significant wetlands in Arunachal Pradesh and serve as crucial habitats for endemic birds and prime fishing locations. , The objectives of the present study are (a) to identify the anthropogenic input in the lake environment, denoting the presence of PAHs and HMs as anthropogenic markers, (b) to determine the aerosol size distribution in the surrounding areas, (c) to trace the origin of pollutant carrying air-masses using HYSPLIT back-trajectory model, and (d) to understand the effect of long-range transported pollutant deposition on lake environment. To our knowledge, it is important to note that this article documents the first data on PAHs and HMs in the eastern Himalayan region.…”
