Aptamer-functionalized Fe3O4magnetic nanoparticles as a solid-phase extraction adsorbent for the selective extraction of berberine fromCortex phellodendri

Abstract: The extraction adsorbent was fabricated by immobilizing the highly specific recognition and binding of aptamer onto the surface of Fe O magnetic nanoparticles, which not only acted as recognition elements to recognize and capture the target molecule berberine from the extract of Cortex phellodendri, but also could favor the rapid separation and purification of the bound berberine by using an external magnet. The developed solid-phase extraction method in this work was useful for the selective extraction and de… Show more

“…Evidently, the correlation coefficient of Freundlich isotherm model (0.9878, 0.9991, and 0.9938) are higher than that of Langmuir isotherm model (0.8915, 0.8384, and 0.8982), indicating that the adsorption process can be better described by the Freundlich isothermal model, and the adsorption of SDM on Fe 3 O 4 /GO/Apt is multilayered and uneven process. In addition, the adsorbent exhibits higher adsorption capacity at 298 K, indicating higher temperature is unfavorable for Fe 3 O 4 /GO/Apt to capture the analyte, which is also consistent with the previous report [21,53].…”

“…In recent years, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have attracted a considerable attention because of its larger specific surface area [14], high saturation magnetic moment and superparamagnetism, easy functionality, and convenient manipulation [15], which provide a broad application potential in biology, medicine, separation, and other fields [16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23]. Magnetic separation has several advantages compared to the traditional separation methods.…”
