This study empirically examines the effects of the acceptance of e-learning Web-apps by student on the learning outcomes achieved with their use. With this objective, two theoretically recognized purposes for use these apps were tested in a blended learning model, as a way to change the traditional face-to-face classrooms activities (apps we called ICTf) and as a virtual evaluation platform in learning (ICTv apps). The data was collected through online surveys from university students of a blended Master’ degree, enrolled in different specialties. PLS-SEM analysis of the data was performed. A proportion of the variance of student learning outcomes was explained by the level of ICTv acceptance. However, the positive effect of the ICTf acceptance on this performance was not significant. Heterogeneity was observed in students’ ratings on the acceptance of the Web-apps by different master’s specialties, and it was higher in ICTf than in ICTv. Our research highlights the important role that the acceptance of use of electronic learning resources plays in boosting their effective learning performance.

Los videos educativos de matemáticas en Internet son un recurso generalizado entre estudiantes de secundaria. Las investigaciones sobre el uso de Video Clases (VC) en estudios universitarios respaldan su efectividad e identifican qué patrones afectan a la utilidad e intención de uso por parte de los estudiantes. Esta investigación presenta, en el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19, la utilidad e intención de uso percibida en 220 estudiantes de secundaria. A partir de un catálogo de VC de matemáticas y con una metodología híbrida que combina el Modelo de Aceptación Tecnológica (TAM) con grupos focales de estudiantes y sus profesores, los resultados revelan que las VC se perciben como un recurso útil, manifestando su intención de seguir usándolos para aprender (enseñar) matemáticas en el aula. No se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los diferentes cursos de secundaria, pero sí entre géneros, siendo la Utilidad Percibida (UP) por las mujeres, mayor que la de los hombres. La presencia en pantalla de un profesor, la duración y precisión de los contenidos son patrones fundamentales para el alumnado de todos los cursos. La inclusión de animaciones, música y píldoras humorísticas son importantes para los estudiantes más jóvenes. Los profesores añaden especial relevancia a la calidad técnica de la VC.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of self-regulated learning (SRL) skills on the academic success of non-commissioned officer (NCO) students within a Special Vocational College (SVC) belonging to the government context. As blended courses become increasingly prevalent, there is a growing interest in understanding the role of SRL, a critical determinant of academic performance. While SRL has garnered substantial attention in higher education, limited research has focused on its relevance within SVCs. Furthermore, little is known about the factors influencing students' SRL levels in online learning settings and their subsequent impact on course performance. Therefore, this study endeavors to identify the factors that influence SVC students' SRL and assess how it impacts success in blended courses. The study was conducted during the Fall semester of 2022-2023, encompassing five distinct compulsory blended courses and involving a total of 203 SVC students. We utilized a path model, expanding upon the framework proposed by Liaw and Huang in 2013, to assess the influence of SRL on academic achievement. The findings demonstrated that students' perceptions of the interactivity in the learning environment (ILE) and their perceived self-efficacy (PSE) had a positive and significant impact on their perceived satisfaction (PS). Additionally, ILE, PSE, and PS significantly influenced the perceived usefulness (PU) of the learning management system (LMS). Furthermore, ILE, PU, and PS emerged as significant predictors of students' SRL skills. However, the observed results did not entirely align with the expected impact on academic success. The study's findings shed light on the complex relationship between course achievement and SRL in blended learning settings, as well as the interrelated factors at play. The practical implications of these findings extend to how LMS administrators can support students in blended courses in becoming more self-regulated learners.
