Applying MCM-48 mesoporous material, equilibrium, isotherm, and mechanism for the effective adsorption of 4-nitroaniline from wastewater

Abstract: In this work, the MCM-48 mesoporous material was prepared and characterized to apply it as an active adsorbent for the adsorption of 4-nitroaniline (4-Nitrobenzenamine) from wastewater. The MCM-48 characterizations were specified by implementing various techniques such as; scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area, pore size distribution (PSD), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The batch adsorption result… Show more

“…In conclusion, the adsorption of CV onto the prepared adsorbents was controlled by multiple processes that involved both physical and chemical adsorption. 37 A previous study reported that the hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interaction, and p-p interactions were related to the adsorption mechanism of 4-nitroaniline onto MCM-48, 37 which indicates that the relationship between adsorbent surface roughness and contact angle is important to elucidate the adsorption mechanism in detail. In this study, the obtained results suggest that the properties of the VCP1000 and/or VC1000 surface signicantly affect the adsorption mechanism of CV from aqueous phases.…”

“…For instance, petrochemical processes such as hydrocracking and catalytic cracking widely utilize synthetic zeolites with mesoporous structures (e.g., MCM-41) as the catalysts. Zeolite membrane sieves are widely used as an alternative to fractionation for recycled normal paraffins owing to it being more energy efficient and having a selective separation technique [19][20][21][22][23][24]. It is defined as a substance that is used to separate gas or liquid mixture by accelerating the reaction through diminishing the activation energy.…”
