Applications of transition metal complexes containing aminophosphine ligand to transfer hydrogenation of ketones

Abstract: 2 ], 1, acts as an excellent catalyst, giving the corresponding alcohols in 98-99% yields in 30 min at 82 • C (TOF ≤200 h −1 ) for the transfer hydrogenation reaction in comparison to analogous rhodium or iridium complexes. This transfer hydrogenation is characterized by low reversibility under these conditions.

“…Compound 2 was prepared according to the published procedure [24]. A mixture of [Ru(h 6 -benzene)(m-Cl)Cl] 2 (0.122 g, 0.244 mmol) and [Ph 2 PNHCH 2 -C 4 H 3 S] (0.145 g, 0.488 mmol) in 20 mL of tetrahydrofuran was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. The volume of the solvent was then reduced to 0.5 mL before addition of diethyl ether (10 mL).…”

“…respectively, as shown in Scheme 1. The complexes were isolated from the reaction solution as analytically pure substances and characterized by analytical and spectroscopic techniques following the procedures described elsewhere [23,24]. Some pertinent chemical shifts for 1 H and 31 P NMR, as well as coupling constants, of compounds 1e4 are summarized in Table 1.…”

“…Due to these advantages, transfer hydrogenation reaction has attracted unique attention in both academic and industry research. Many researchers have reported transfer hydrogenation of different important compounds by rhodium complexes . Here we reported the synthesis of three new rhodium complexes with three different P~N donor chelating ligands having different bonding modes and characteristics.…”

[18][19][20][21] Here we reported the synthesis of three new rhodium complexes with three different P~N donor chelating ligands having different bonding modes and characteristics. The identities of the complexes were confirmed using FT-IR, NMR, mass spectroscopy, etc.…”
