Applications of polymeric photorefractive material to reversible data storage and information processing

Abstract: A polymeric photorefractive composite was prepared from a mixture of carbazole-substituted polysiloxane as a photoconducting medium, 2,4,7-trinitro-9-fluorenone as a photosensitizer, and 2-{3-[(E)-2-(dibutylamino)-1-ethenyl]-5,5-dimethyl-2-cyclohexenyliden} malononitrile as an optically nonlinear chromophore. This polymeric composite, with a thickness of 100 m, exhibited a high diffraction efficiency of 92% at a low applied electric field of 30 V/m, which corresponded a refractive index modulation of 3 ϫ 10 Ϫ3… Show more

“…A photorefractive composite material for reversible data storage was prepared using carbazole-substituted polysiloxane as the photoconducting medium. 40 The exciting catalytic formation of siloxane-containing nanowires by using gold nanoparticles was reported by Klabunde and co-workers. 41 Digestive ripening experiments of large polydisperse Au-ketone-stabilised colloids with the silane (C 18 H 37 SiH 3 ) were used to form small gold nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution.…”
