“…Allen et al (1993) developed a TIC with an ultra-small spacing, having rather high electric output at the electrode temperature of 1400-1600 K. In the initial state the TIC electrodes are completely closed, and the ultra-small spacing was automatically produced on heating the electrodes up to operating temperatures due to the difference in coefficients of thermal expansion (CTE) of the electrode materials.…”
