“…Due to high analyte loss, WCX and C18 as pre-columns in tandem SPE were not used. The employment of strong anion exchange sorbents (SAX/MAX) and/or HLB for the extraction of FCs from solid samples has been extensively reported [ 21 , 32 ] and promotes the separation of analytes in good recoveries. In our study, we also tested the feasibility of MAX and HLB sorbents.…”

“…According to IDA criteria, if a compound’s signal intensity exceeded 500 cps and was in the range of 100–1500 Da, then EPI mode was activated and the full mass spectrum recorded. Confirmation was obtained through comparison of the obtained mass spectra of TPs with those available in the literature [ 20 , 21 ]. The use of p-MRM-IDA-EPI reduced the amount of data obtained in the next step.…”

“…Most veterinary antibiotics are not completely adsorbed in the animal intestines. The unabsorbed parts are transmitted into the environment in the form of prototypes and metabolites [ 4 , 5 ] through runoff [ 6 , 7 ], leaching, and manure used in the land [ 8 ], and eventually, they become the selection factor of resistant bacteria and multiple resistant bacteria [ 9 ]. Along with the overuse and abuse of antibiotics in recent years, antibiotic residues in the environment have caused continuous environmental pollution.…”

“…The selected carbon powders were used as-prepared and after the immobilization of iron using two different protocols. Two wide spread used antibiotics frequently detected in water environments (metronidazole [32] and sulfamethoxazole [33]) were selected as the target pollutants to perform their degradation via the different electrochemical treatments both in synthetic water and in a real wastewater treatment plant effluent. The electrocatalytic performance of the process incorporating low-cost carbon-based cathodes has been analyzed in terms of degradation efficiency of the pollutants, energy consumption compared to typical carbon cathodes and reusability of the electrodes in subsequent cycles.…”
