Application of the steady-state principle of constant-head well permeameter to indirect subsurface drip irrigation

Abstract: Indirect subsurface drip irrigation (ISDI) is a method of increasing the irrigation water use efficiency of drip irrigation without the need to bury irrigation tubes and wet the soil surface. A major problem of ISDI is the mismatch between emitter discharge rate and water-conducting device dimension, which will result in over-filling of application water. In this paper, we propose to use the steady-state principle of constant-head well permeameter (CHWP) to quantify the relationship between emitter discharge r… Show more

“…Nowadays, facilities agriculture develops fast in our country and has achieved remarkable economic, social and ecological benefits. But unreasonable management of water and fertilizer make soil physical and chemical properties worse and it is especially serious on soil secondary salinization which lead crop handicap obviously [9][10][11][12] . Covering plastic under facilities conditions is widely used, it is significant that film hole irrigation, advanced irrigation technology, is introduced to facilities production for improving the utilization rate of water and fertilizer and ease salt.…”
