Application of reactor net models for the simulation of gas-turbine combustor emissions

Abstract: The work deals with the evaluation of applicability of reactor net models and different reaction mechanisms for the predictions of emission characteristics of aero-engine combustors operating both in diffusion and in homogeneous burning modes. It is shown that the accuracy of the calculations of emission indices for NO x , CO and unburned hydrocarbons (UHC) is dependent strongly on the applied reaction mechanisms. The computations exhibited that for the combustor operating in a diffusion mode the use of methan… Show more

“…Papers with an analysis of emissions data from flights for selected airspace are also presented (Pham et al , 2010). Many interesting works are found in literature that is related to the development of models which are based on variety of tools and methods used for calculations or predictions of emissions characteristic for aero-engine (Starik et al , 2014; Synylo and Duchêne, 2014; Şöhret et al , 2016; Vancassel et al , 2014).…”

“…A CRN combustion modeling approach to predict NOx and CO emissions in lean premixed gas turbines based on the flow pattern and temperatures inspired by CFD addressed by [ [30], [31]]. CFD has been used as a base for chemical reactor analysis of combustion by [32] and [39]. Fichet et al [33], have used a reactor network model for predicting NOx emissions in gas turbines.…”
