This work reports on synthesis of a novel magnetic nanoadsorbent for solid phase extraction of leached bisphenol A (BPA) from some polycarbonate products. In order to improve the adsorbent selectivity toward the analyte, the adsorbent was coated with a layer of BPA imprinted polymer. The prepared 10 adsorbent has been fully characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, X-ray diffractometer and transmission electron microscope. The results showed that, after carful optimization of various affecting factors on the removal and desorption of BPA, the analyte can be determined in the concentration range of 5.0-1000.0 ng mL -1 with a detection limit as low as 1.5 ng mL -1 using the spectrofluometric method. The results of the real samples analysis showed that the investigated samples 15 release detectable and considerable amounts of BPA into the water under simulated use condition confirming the previous concerns about danger of polycarbonate products usage in daily human life.

A method for simultaneous spectrofluorometric determination of naproxen drug enantiomers has been proposed. The method based on three procedures. These procedures have their precision limitation that has been fully investigated and optimized condition has been proposed. In this regard, magnetite nanospheres have been chemically modified with L-(-)-Tryptophan (Try-MNSs). The synthesized nanospheres have been characterized by FT-IR, XRD, VSM and TEM measurements. The result showed that Try-MNSs have good enantioselectivity toward S-(+)-Naproxen and could efficiently remove that in the presence of its enantiomer. Using the proposed procedures, precise naproxen drug enantiomeric composition analysis in concentration range of 100.0-1800.0 ng mL -1 is achievable. Furthermore, S-(+)-Naproxen determination in 2.0-50.0 ng mL -1 concentration range with detection limit of 0.7 ng mL -1 is feasible.

We prepared the catechol-functionalized nanosilica for adsorption of germanium (Ge) ions from aqueous media. The functionalized nanosilica was characterized by FTIR, TGA, TEM, BET, and XPS. The influence of pH, Ge initial concentration, and time of the adsorption process was investigated. Under the optimum condition, the maximum adsorption capacity of Ge ions was 0.048 mg m -2 at pH 4.5. The adsorption mechanism is the chelating interaction between hydroxyl and Ge(OH) 4 . The functionalized nanosilica was able to selectively adsorb Ge ions from tellurium(IV) and boron. Langmuir isotherm was found to better fit the experiment data rather than Freundlich isotherm. The kinetics of the adsorption process of Ge ions on the functionalized nanosilica was investigated using the pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order models, and the results indicated that the pseudosecond order equation model provided the best correlation with the experimental results.
