“…Using this optical system, an observer does not need to wear special glasses to see 3-D images, and this is expected to be a practical configuration when we apply the display to car navigation in the future. Although car navigation systems using HUD have already been reported [4], these have not been 3-D displays that have conveyed the impression of great depths and they have not been able to control the perceived depths of displayed images. This paper describes a subjective test done on the perceived depth of an image presented by our new 3-D display and discusses the results that are compared with those from the previous study where we used HMD.…”
