Application of gas cyclone–liquid jet absorption separator for purification of tail gas containing ammonia

Abstract: In this experiment, with stainless steel gas cyclone-liquid jet absorption separator as carrier, NH as experimental gas, and water and HPO solution as absorbents, corresponding NH absorption rate change is obtained through the adjustment of experimental parameters, such as NH inlet concentration, inlet velocity of mixed gas, injection flow rate of absorbent, temperature of absorbent, and HPO absorbent concentration. The NH absorption rate decreases with the increase in NH inlet concentration and inlet gas velo… Show more

“…The structure has clear advantages in terms of vigorous turbulent flow field in comparison with traditional gas−liquid contactors. The technique has been used for the removal of different gases, including ammonia, 418 sulfur dioxide, 417 and hydrogen chloride. 419 The vortex flow-based spray absorber on CO 2 removal efficiency can be improved in several ways.…”

“…The jet-cyclone coupling separator is a novel type of mass transfer enhancement equipment with the advantages of simple structure, strong applicability, light equipment, and good mass transfer effect. It has been widely used in deamination, desulfurization, and other fields. The device utilizes the collision between the rotating turbulent field and the jet field to break the jet into small droplets, thus increasing the contact area between the two phases and enhancing the mass transfer effect.…”

“…In [11], the separation of a gas-liquid two-phase flow is modeled and analyzed with CFD tools by considering a cone as a cyclonic generator; also, the dynamics of a cyclone separator with helical fins is studied by CFD in [12]. In [13], the cyclonic phenomenon is also studied for an absorption separator of ammonia from a liquid solution.…”
