Because it is effective in simulating the dynamic mechanic behavior of block systems [4], DDA has been used to address diverse problems in various types of structures, such as the stability assessment of rock slopes [5]; the path tracking of rockfalls [6]; the blasting effect evaluation [7]; the simulation of landslides [8,9]; the construction of rock-fill dams [10], stacked block piles [11], and masonry structures [12]; and the analysis of coupled hydromechanical processes [13].
