This study explores the challenge of cyber security threats that e-commerce technology and business are facing. Technology applications for e-commerce are attracting attention from both academia and industry. It has made what was not possible before for the business community and consumers. But it did not come all alone but has brought some challenges, and cyber security challenge is one of them. Cyber security concerns have many forms, but this study focuses on social engineering, denial of services, malware, and attacks on personal data. Firms worldwide spend a lot on addressing cybersecurity issues, which grow each year. However, it seems complicated to overcome the challenge because the attackers continuously search for new vulnerabilities in humans, organizations, and technology. This paper is based on the conceptual analysis of social engineering, denial of services, malware, and attacks on personal data. We argue that implementing modern technology for e-commerce and cybersecurity issues is a never-ending game of cat and mouse. To reduce risks, reliable technology is needed, training of employees and consumer is necessary for using the technology, and a strong policy and regulation is needed at the firm and governmental level.

This paper proposes a support vector machine (SVM)-based AGV scheduling strategy that enhances the scheduling efficiency of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in intelligent factories. The developed scheme optimizes the task area division process to endow the AGVs with the ability to avoid obstacles in complex dynamic environments. Specifically, given the two AGV motion cases, i.e., towards a single target point and multiple target points, the optimal path was determined utilizing the exhaustive and the Q-learning methods, while path optimization was realized by utilizing different schemes. Based on the shortest path obtained, a nonlinear programming model with the shortest time as the objective was built, and the AGV’s turning path was proved to be optimal by the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II). Several simulation tests and calculation results validated the proposed method’s effectiveness, highlighting that the developed scheme is a rational solution to the obstacle congestion and deadlock problems. Moreover, the experimental results demonstrated the proposed method’s superiority in path planning accuracy and its ability to respond well in complex dynamic environments. Overall, this research provides a reference for developing and applying AGV cluster scheduling in real operational scenarios.

This paper examined e-logistic practices and health care supply chain management in the context of Ugandan public referral hospitals. The prime objective was to examine the relationship between e-logistics operations and performance of health care supply chain management. A quantitative research approach was utilized to gather data from public referral hospitals respondents using structured survey questionnaires. For data analysis, descriptive statistics and Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling were utilised, aided by SmartPLS 3. Findings showed a positive significant relationship between e-logistics operations and performance of health care supply chain management in the context of Ugandan public referral hospitals. This study implies that the key e-logistics operations in relation to the performance of health care supply chain management, are central management of drugs, the correct order picking of drugs given to the right patients for quality control, and presence of an electronic system to update stock daily. Additionally, the findings designated that, e-logistics operations are related to the performance of health care supply chain management in terms of ICTs tracking systems and data transparency. The practical implication to the health sector- stakeholders, is to consider ICT-tracking systems and data transparency for e-logistics operations and performance of health care supply chain management.
