RESUMOEste trabalho avaliou os processos de interação em uma simulação de derramamento de biodiesel em um solo argiloso sob diferentes configurações estruturais, visando observar os efeitos de sorção deste presente a aplicação de uma bioestimulação de NPK e diferentes precipitações. Foram moldados corpos de prova de 400 g de solo seco, em diferentes índices de vazios, diferentes umidades, sendo realizado um bloco de experimentos com e sem a presença de nutrientes e simulando diferentes precipitações. Os corpos de prova foram submetidos a uma simulação de derramamento de biodiesel e deixados sob a percolação por 15 dias. Após esse período, os corpos de prova foram submetidos a três valores de simulação de precipitação, deixados em repouso por 15 dias. As análises quantitativas foram realizadas por meio do método de ultrassom determinando o teor residual do contaminante. Quando os corpos de prova foram submetidos a simulação de precipitação percebeu-se uma maior lixiviação do contaminante nas amostras com adição de nutrientes, indicando que os efeitos de saturação dos campos reativos dos argilominerais puderam ser observados. Concluiu-se que a aplicação de bioestimulação proporciona uma maior lixiviação do biodiesel potencializando os efeitos nocivos da contaminação. Palavras-chave: Contaminação, bioestimulação, sorção. ABSTRACTThis study aimed to evaluate the processes of interaction in a biodiesel spill simulation in a clay soil under different structural configurations in order to observe the effects of sorption present applying a biostimulation of NPK and different rainfall simulation. It was molded samples of 400 g of dry soil at different void ratios, different moisture contents, in a block of experiments being carried out with and without the presence of nutrients and simulating different rainfall under the samples. They were subjected to a simulated spill biodiesel being left in the percolation for 15 days. After this period, the samples were subjected to three simulation values of precipitation, allowed to stand for 15 days. Quantitative analyzes were performed using the ultrasound method determining the residual amount of the contaminant. When the samples were subjected to simulated rainfall it was perceived a greater leaching of the contaminant in the samples with added nutrients, indicating that the effects of saturation of the reactive fields of clay minerals can be observed. It was concluded that the application of biostimulation provides greater leaching of biodiesel increasing the damaging effects of pollution.

The present research aims to optimize the removal of phosphate (PO 4 3-) from aqueous solution by Fe 3 O 4 stabilized zero-valent iron nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 -ZVINPs). A three-factor, three-level, Box-Behnken design combined with response surface methodology was applied to design the experiments, to develop a mathematical model, and for evaluating the individual and also the interactive effects of the operating variables like pH, temperature, and PO 4 3-concentration on removal efficiency. The analysis of variance has been used to evaluate the adequacy of the developed mathematical model in order to predict the optimal conditions of independent process variables, and to get maximum removal efficiency. Three-dimensional response surface plots were constructed to visualize the simultaneous interactive effects between two process variables. All three factors had a significant impact on removal of PO 4 3-. The predicted value of the model (166.0 mg g -1 PO 4 3-) was in good agreement with the experimental value (164.92 mg g -1 PO 4 3-) under the optimum conditions of temperature 49.2°C; pH 3.5; and PO 4 3-concentration 79.8 mg L -1 . The removal of PO 4 3-in the presence of environmental matrix (other ions) was also investigated at optimum conditions as predicted by the model. The results suggest that the presence of these ions had no significant effect on PO 4 3-removal. In addition, the adsorbed PO 4 3-can be effectively desorbed at higher pH of the solution. The findings suggest that removal of PO 4 3-from aqueous solution using Fe 3 O 4 -ZVINPs can be an effective method.

In this study, response surface methodology approach using Central Composite Design was applied to develop a mathematical model and to optimize process parameters for the COD, color, orthophosphate, TSS, and turbidity removal from dairy wastewater by electrocoagulation process using iron and aluminum electrodes. The second-order regression model was developed to predict the removal efficiencies using Statgraphics Centurion XVI.I software program. The optimum conditions for the COD removal were found to be 5.06 min for reaction time, 5.0 for pH, and 50.5 A/m 2 for current density with Al electrodes, whereas 5.21 min for reaction time, 5 for pH, and 65 A/m 2 for current density with Fe electrodes. High removal efficiencies (98.91% COD and 99.78% orthophosphate removal with Al electrodes, and 98.84% COD and 98.24% orthophosphate removal with Fe electrodes) were achieved under optimum conditions. The operating costs for the COD removal from dairy wastewater by electrocoagulation process using Fe and Al electrodes at optimized conditions were calculated to be 0.54 and 0.42 €/m 3 , respectively. The sludge formed under optimized conditions in EC process was characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis. The FT-IR results showed that pollutants in dairy wastewater were linked with aluminum hydroxide and iron hydroxide complexes, precipitated at the bottom of the reactor containing milk components.
