Application of Blue Honeysuckle Powder Obtained by an Innovative Method of Low-Temperature Drying in Skincare Face Masks

Abstract: Traditional technologies applied for obtaining plant raw materials for cosmetic production are based primarily on high-level processing, which is reflected in the qualitative composition of the resulting materials. By using low-temperature drying, it is possible to retain in the raw materials a range of valuable ingredients. In this study, blue honeysuckle powder was used as an ingredient of cosmetic face masks. The stability of the masks was evaluated. Dynamic viscosity, yield point and texture analysis of th… Show more

“…Dynamic viscosity is the basic determinant of the quality of oils, indicating the consistency of this type of cosmetic product. It is important that this parameter has an appropriate level, enabling the application of cosmetics to the skin and dosing from the packaging [50,53]. Cosmetic body oils F1-F3, in which the predominant percentage was natural oils, were characterized by a significantly higher viscosity (6-10 times) than oils no.…”

“…A similar tendency can be observed in the case of parameter b, the intensity of the yellow color also decreases with the predominance of synthetic oils in the formulations. It should be noted that plant substances contain a wide range of active substances that may have the ability to change the color of a cosmetic product [44]. Among others, [45] in their work analyzing the color assessment of cosmetic emulsions with plant extracts, i.e.…”

“…A. melanocarpa [ 162 , 163 , 164 , 165 ] and L. caerulea [ 24 , 82 , 121 , 166 ] are among the medicinal plants for which the literature reports multiple beneficial effects. Therefore, many bioactive compounds are extracted from these plants and are encapsulated into controlled release systems [ 167 , 168 , 169 , 170 , 171 , 172 , 173 ]. The literature reports various encapsulation systems for the active substances or natural extracts ( Table 1 ).…”
