Application of an expert system of X‐ ray micro computed tomography imaging for identification of Sitophilus oryzae infestation in stored rice grains

Abstract: BACKGROUND The plausibility of image texture analysis to assess X‐ray images of S. oryzae‐infested rice after variable storage days (fresh, 45, 90, 135, 180 and 225 days) was investigated using an X‐ray micro computed tomography instrument. Subsequently, image acquisition, pre‐processing, and the extraction of the image textural features was done using volume graphics VGL 2.2 software. Morphological features (radius, diameter, volume, compactness, sphericity, defect volume, and voids) were extracted from the x… Show more

“…X‐ray CT scan analysis of FRK was performed as per the method described by Srivastava, Mishra, and Mishra (2020). X‐ray CT scans of the raw rice and FRK were investigated in Phoenix V|tome|x m (GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies GmbH, Wunstorf, Germany) instrument provided with a GE dynamic 41|200 large‐area detector array and microfocus scanner (24.997X magnification, 6.5 μm voxel value, and 6.4 power value).…”

“…The use of X-rays has many advantages since it is a fast, non-destructive, and accurate technique for the internal and external detection of insects, regardless of the life stage of the insect. Furthermore, recent algorithms focused on X-ray image contrast enhancement, or microcomputed tomography for 3D imaging, enable superior diagnostic images and, consequently, high accuracy [29,30]. Nevertheless, the automatic inspection of insect infestation is still a challenge.…”

“…According to Sukamto and Salahudin in the journal explained that use case diagrams are modeling a behavioral trait (behavior) in an information system to be created. [20] Use Case Diagram is a description of interactions between application components that introduces how they interact with users.…”
