Application of a nested loop system for the flow injection analysis of trace aqueous peroxides

Abstract: The novel concept of a nested loop valve system wherein one Injection valve Is Inserted within the loop of another has some unique benefits. This Is demonstrated for part-per-bllllon level differential flow Injection analysis of aqueous H202 and organic peroxides.

“…Further, if these data are to yield meaningful values of the desired parameters, the solutions used for such measurements should be such that all forms of the protolyzable anion are fully represented. Conductance of a C molar solution of M"_mHmX, derived from a n-protic acid (m = 0 -* n) can be generally expressed as 1000KG = (nm)CXM+ + [H+]Xh+ + [OH1Xoh-+ CQTl[ (Kai ... “…Based on the previous developments, detection of NH + 4 was performed with the same fluorimetric method described in Sigg et al (1994) and Genfa and Dasgupta (1989). The detection of hydrogen peroxide and formaldehyde also used the previously developed methods, however with improved spectrometers (Dasgupta and Hwang, 1985;Dong and Dasgupta, 1987). Differing from the GRIP system, the EDC/NGRIP system used a more sensitive fluorimetric detection of Ca 2+ (Tsien et al, 1982) instead of the previously used absorption technique (Kagenow and Jensen, 1983).…”
