“…As result, the photon conversion efficiency drops with increasing forward currents and maximal photon extraction cannot exceed a given threshold [78]. Arduino microcontroller coupled with standard LED luminaries (for examples see [50,84]). • Photo-and mixotrophy: Phototrophic organisms use light as energy source to fix inorganic carbon dioxide in organic compounds.…”

“…The design can be modified to feature larger illuminator and orbital shaker to support larger culture volumes. The peak brightness of the illuminator can be changed by altering the spacing of the LED strips 1 . The spectral properties of the light source can be modified to suit different experimental regimes [25]. The white LED strips, described here, can be swapped for multi-color LED strips[15]. Multiple copies of the described LED controller can be built to independently control the output of the three colors of the multicolor LED strip, and thus vary the spectral properties and timing of the light source. The illumination light intensity and cycle can be controlled using a microcontroller or a computer for advanced growing protocols.…”

“…The authors reported innovations in data acquisition using sensors and storage of values in clouds, basing the study on the concept of internet of things (IoT). The authors proved that electronic technology has been fostering precision agriculture (Wishkerman and Wishkerman, 2017;Santos et al, 2018;Mazon-Olivo et al, 2018;Zhou et al, 2018).…”

“…The increasing demand for efficient and accessible electronic systems has motivated research using prototyping platforms (Bajer and Krejkar, 2015;Mekki et al, 2015;Wishkerman and Wishkerman, 2017). Studies have used the Arduino platform to create agricultural control systems.…”
