Applicability of Vector Autoregressive Model to Estimation of Internal Moisture Condition of Concrete Exposed to Ordinary Natural Environment

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the applicability of the VAR-X model to prediction of internal humidity of concrete exposed to ordinary natural environment. The parameters are estimated using internal humidity data and weather data. The results show that VAR-X model can be applied to non-rainfall environment data and that it can roughly reproduce the subsequent humidity fluctuation. Whereas, VAR-X model underestimates the impact of rainfall, and is not applicable to rainfall environment data. The applicability of VAR-X model is discussed based on the difference of humidity fluctuation mechanisms in concrete between rainfall and non-rainfall.
