Apparatus for measurement of isobaric dew and bubble points and vapor-liquid equilibriums. Methanol-water and water-dioxane systems

Abstract: approaching that of NaIO:1 but is exceeding it by a larger amount than in more dilute solutions. The behavior of p-toluenesulfonic acid and sodium p-toluenesulfonate resembled more closely that of HC1 and NaCl, but in the more concentrated solutions there is evidence of incomplete ionization of the acid. The difference in partial molal volumes of the acids and corresponding salts at 4.0m is 2.1 ml for the chlorides but only 1.4 ml for the toluenesulfonates. A degree of ionization of 0.94 has been calculated of … Show more

“…The application was tested on a set of 270 zeotropic and azeotropic systems of homogeneous binary solutions and 30 non‐homogeneous systems. In addition to the VLE data, values of the excess properties ( v E and h E ) have been used and, also, LLE data of the system studied, extracted from the literature,…”

“…The constructions of the feeder and condenser were further modified to prevent the contamination with water from the air. The experimental procedures are the same as in the previous papers (1,3). Tern ¡aera ture was measured by means of a Hewlett-Packard 2804A quartz thermometer with an accuracy of 0021-9568/91/1736-0057602.50/0 0.01 K. The solutions of desired composition were prepared with an accuracy of 0.001 in mole fraction by use of an automatic balance.…”
