PhD have been the happiest of my life. Being funded to read my favourite writer, hang out in coffee shops and think about theology is a bit of a dream gig for me, and I count myself #blessed to have had the chance to do just that. There is nothing else I would rather do, and my enthusiasm for both this thesis and research in general is down to a number of people who have encouraged and supported me, made me laugh at key times, and been present when the joy was a little harder to find. I'd like to commit my thanks for these people to writing. This thesis was largely written in the Coleraine branch of Starbucks, at the back table, last on the right. So to all the staff who have worked there over the past three years, I raise a mug of incredibly strong left-eyelid-twitchy coffee to you for the relaxed and super friendly atmosphere you created. A
