Abstract:In this work we analyse the Casimir effect for bosons and fermions on a hypertorus for both cases at zero and finite temperature. We find that at zero temperature there is a transition from negative to positive values of pressure which depends heavily on the magnitude of the compactification parameters. When low temperatures are considered, a change in the relation between the pressure behaviour and the compactification parameters is observed. In contrast, at high energies, due to the dominance of the black-bo… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
