Aplicación de microcontroladores Arduino y procesamiento de datos utilizando MatLab aplicado al ensayo de motores de combustión interna.

Abstract

The layout of the open diagram of an internal combustion engine (MCI) provides important information for the development of calculation models and the study of the work cycle behavior. Determining these diagrams, parameters such as the pressure developed in the cylinder as a function of the angle of rotation must be measured, as well as the reference of the top dead center. The storage and processing of the information can become a slow and arduous task by means of the traditional method using a digital oscilloscope that stores the information received during a predetermined fixed time, and then stored in a portable memory and processed with a calculation software. Validate models based on experimental results requires flexible and fast ways to obtain a representative number of samples that support the employed method. This work shows the use of an Arduino DUE commercial microcontroller, of the Atmel SAM3X8E ARM Cortex-M3 family, to accelerate the measurement process of the open cycle without combustion engine test, facilitating its visualization and understanding of the phenomenon in real time through an own interface, being able to link it directly with MATLAB software. The presented solution improves the reliability of the measurements at a lower cost than the traditional method, taking advantage of the flexibility of the microcontroller to program the appropriate number of samples to each measurement and adding the freedom provided by an open source tool.
