Aortic Valve Replacement within a Composite Graft

Abstract: Failure of a bioprosthetic valve within a composite graft presents a challenging surgical problem. A solution to this, as described here, involves leaving a remnant of the failed valve intact within the graft. This forms the annulus to which the new valve is sewn, thus simplifying the operation.
