Aortic sclerosis: clinical signs and diagnosis

Abstract: Atherosclerotic changes in the aorta result in progressive accumulation of cholesterol and other lipids in the intimal–medial layer with secondary inflammation, fibrous tissue deposition, surface erosions (ulcers), and plaque formation.
