The presented paper concerns itself with passenger car maintenance companies and their competitiveness. Internal and external influences, change drivers and general changes in the companies and their organisation were identified and analysed. The influence of the development of technology and the diffusion of innovations are highlighted in particular. Under consideration of the competitiveness factors, current and future challenges for the passenger car maintenance companies were worked out. Based on these analyses, future tasks, problem statements and challenges were compiled for passenger car maintenance companies from which other subjects of scientific investigation in area of strategic and economic importance arose.

This study investigates the corrosion behavior of the contact element CFRP‐aluminum under standardized corrosion conditions. Both, the corrosion of the aluminum alloy and the coupled corrosion of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) were examined. FE‐SEM analysis was performed to analyze the microscopic corrosive attack. While anodic corrosion was observed for the alloy especially close to the material transition, the cathodic corrosion of the CFRP led to fracture and buckling of the glass fibers and moreover to delamination between the carbon fibers and the epoxy matrix. Finally, the influence of a cathodic polarization on the transverse tensile stress resistance of the composite was tested. The observed carbon fiber/epoxy matrix debonding processes led to a significant reduction of the mechanical properties.

DEDICATIONThis thesis is dedicated to my parents who always believed in me and gave me the freedom to pursue my dreams. This thesis focuses on the task of the design and development of a simulation and evaluation environment for a pre-developed Traffic Flow Analysis System. The objective of this environment is to simulate the behavior of real vehicles on the existing street network including their most relevant characteristics for the purpose of congestion recognition. It is shown how simulation methods can be effectively used to create such an environment while using mathematical methods to model the characteristics of the participating system parts (vehicles) as well as the environmental influence on the external communication components (GPS, Radio).
