“…Al evaluar la letalidad de los extractos crudos de los octocorales y moluscos, frente a los nauplios de este crustáceo, se encontraron valores de concentración letal media (CL 50 ) que variaron entre 166.9 y 747.0μg/ml transcurridas las 24h de exposición y entre 46.8 y 286.6μg/ml luego de 48h (Cuadro 2). Estos valores de CL 50 , por debajo de 1.000μg/ml, indican la presencia de principios fisiológica-mente activos en los extractos, con posibles propiedades antitumorales y/o pesticidas, que le confieren un carácter letal o citotóxico sobre la A. salina, ya que la mortalidad de este organismo tiene una correlación positiva con los ensayos sobre células 9KB (carcinoma nasofaríngeo humano) (Schmitz et al 1993, Meyer et al 1982, Marcano & Hasegawa 2002. El incremento de actividad letal con el tiempo, puede deberse a una alteración del proceso de desarrollo de los nauplios de A. salina por efecto de los principios activos presentes en los diferentes extractos orgánicos (Carballo et al 2002), lo cual hace más vulnerable a este organismo cuando se encuentra en una etapa más avanzada de su desarrollo.…”
